Amazing photo of Norfolk shipwreck wins national prize

A photograph taken on the Norfolk coast has won a national competition.

Chris Herring won the 'ships and wrecks' category and took the overall prize for his image of Cart Gap near Happisburgh.

The photography competition was launched by Shipwrecked Mariners' Society to mark national Seafarers Awareness Week from 23rd-30th June.

Other winners included a photograph dramatic waves crashing in Co Durham and an image of the Bay of Biscay.

"We received about 1,000 entries this year for the competition which is fantastic and many of the images portray those who we are here to support, with the competition enabling us to raise awareness of the maritime environment and those working in it."
