"The course has been hard work but really enjoyable and I can't wait to get back to policing the streets of Essex again. Diesel loves his new job too and has worked very hard in training. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve."

The three dog handlers are now fully licensed and will be on operational duties from next week.

They will help to find missing people, enforce public order and catch criminals across Essex.

“We’re very pleased to be welcoming our three newly licensed police dogs into the Dog Section. The training they have received has been exceptionally delivered by our trainers and will prepare them for their duties as police officers and police dogs."

– Dog Section Inspector Brad Dickel
