Lotus 'to be sold'

Lotus - the Norfolk based carmaker in Hethel - may be about to be sold. A sale could not only jeopardise the company's ambitious plans to bring out five new models, but threaten its production base in Britain.

A Lotus spokesman said: "The simple fact is - and we haven’t denied this - Lotus is going through a very difficult phase at the moment but we are showing true fighting spirit every day in trying to keep this vision alive."
