Election 2012: Labour gaining at the expense of the Tories

Labour are making gains mainly at the expense of the Conservatives in the Anglia region.

Labour gain Gt Yarmouth and Harlow from the Conservatives.

Labour gain Norwich and Thurrock from No Overall Control.

Lib Dems lose Cambridge to No Overall Control.

The Conservatives lose Southend to No Overall Control.

The Conservatives hold Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Peterborough, Rochford, Welwyn Hatfield.

Labour hold Ipswich and Stevenage.

Colchester and St Albans remain hung councils.
