Silverstone managing director Richard Phillips has issued an "unreserved apology" to fans after the traffic mayhem that has caused huge disruption to F1 fans trying to get to the British Grand Prix with twenty thousand who hold public parking tickets being turned away again this morning.
Thousands were left stranded in traffic jams outside the Northamptonshire track yesterday as the first two practice sessions ahead of Sunday's race.
Mr Phillips has admitted the financial hit is likely to run into seven figures.

Rain-hit F1 fans told to stay away
Grand Prix fans have been warned not to attend the Silverstone race track on Saturday as rain left thousands stranded in traffic jams.

Update on Silverstone traffic jams
The Silverstone race track has tweeted to motorists struck in traffic jams heading for the British Grand Prix:
"To all who are stuck in traffic, we are trying our best to get everyone on site. We have a major problem with traffic going to campsites along the Dadford Road which are full, if you have not prebooked please do not attempt to camp at these sites.
Those of you that are here already we are doing our best to relocate you. If you are stuck in traffic we are doing all we can to get you in and parked up asap, we are sincerely sorry for the delay."
