Party murder suspects released on bail

Five teenagers arrested over the murder of an A-level student stabbed outside a house party in Colchester have been released on bail.

Jay Whiston died from a stab wound after the indicent at the house on Marlowe Way on Saturday night. Two 18-year-old men and three 17-year-old boys have been bailed until October 17th.

The inquest into Jay's death is due to open at New Bridge House, Chelmsford this afternoon.

Five people arrested in connection with the murder of a teenager at a house party in Colchester have been released on bail.

A post mortem showed that 17-year-old student Jay Whiston died from a stab wound after the indicent at a house on Marlowe Way on Saturday night.

Two 18-year-old men and three 17-year-old boys have been bailed until October 17th.

Sixth arrest in teen murder investigation

Detectives have arrested a sixth person in connection with an ongoing murder investigation following the death of a teenager in Colchester.

Jay Whiston, from Clacton, was at a party on Marlowe Way on Saturday when he died.

A provisional post-mortem examination result showed he died

from a stab wound.

A 17-year-old boy from Colchester was arrested this lunchtime on suspicion of murder. A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on Monday afternoon on suspicion of assault has now beenre-arrested on suspicion of murder.

These two boys join another 17-year-old boy and two 18-year-old men who are all continuing to bequestioned on suspicion of murder at separate police stations in north Essex.

Another teenager has been released without charge.

Fifth arrest in party death investigation

Police have made a fifth arrest after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Colchester.

Jay Whiston, from Clacton, was at a party on Marlowe Way on Saturday when he died.

Four teenagers from Colchester had already been arrested on suspicion of murder... one was released without charge. Police have now arrested a fifth teenager on suspicion of assault.

A fifth person has been arrested in connection with the ongoing murder investigation of a teenager in Colchester.

Jay Whiston, 17, died after being stabbed at a house party in Marlowe Way, Colchester on Saturday night.

Four people from Colchester were arrested on suspicion of murder, two 18-year-old men and two 17-year-old boys.

One of the 17-year-old boys was released without charge last night. The three remaining individuals are continuing to be questioned at separate police stations in north Essex.

Yesterday, a 17-year-old boy from the town was arrested on suspicion of assault. He too is being questioned by detectives at a police station in north Essex.

Stabbing at teenage birthday party

It was supposed to be a party to celebrate a 16th birthday, but it ended in murder. 17-year-old Jay Whiston was attending a friend's birthday in Colchester when he was stabbed to death.

Throughout the day people living nearby and school friends have been laying flowers close to the the scene of the killing. Four teenagers are being questioned this evening by detectives on suspicion of murder
