Former gamekeeper, Christopher Docherty-Puncheon, has appeared at St Albans Crown Court accused of killing 83-year-old retired army officer Lieutenant Colonel Riley Workman at his Hertfordshire home eight years ago.

Murder accused confessed to being a hit man
A man on trial for shooting dead a retired army colonel in Hertfordshire is alleged to have confessed to being a hit man and to having a gay affair with the victim.
Robert Workman, 83, was murdered on the doorstep of his home in Furneux Pelham in January 2004.
A jury was told today that Christopher Docherty-Puncheon confessed to killing the former colonel to fellow inmates while he was in prison for the murder of another man - Fred Moss. Docherty-Puncheon has pleaded not guilty to murder at St Albans crown court.
