Work has been taking place today to repair a burst water main which caused serious flooding in the centre of Colchester on Friday night.
A number of homes were evacuated and roads shut as crews dealt with the incident.
Anglian Water say engineers will be at the scene all weekend trying to deal with the problem.
Essex Police have reported that around 16 homes in Colchester have been evacuated because of a burst water main causing serious flooding.
Road closures have been put in place at Southway, Maldon Road, Wellington Street, Balkerne Hill and Maldon Road. An emergency rest centre has been set up for residents who have been affected.
