Police investigating a fatal house fire near Newmarket have said a woman's death was not suspicious.

The woman's body was found following a fire in a house in Bury Road in Kentford on Friday. Police have finished their investigation and the case has been handed to the coronor.


Man found dead after Suffolk house fire

A body has been found following a house fire, police said.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the blaze in Kentford, near Newmarket, Suffolk, at 9.20am today.

They found a man, in his 60s who lived at the address in Bury Road, suffering from smoke inhalation and there were fears another person was trapped inside.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said the death is being treated as unexplained.

Emergency services are fighting a fire at a house in Kentford near Newmarket in Suffolk. It started at 9.20 this morning in Bury Road. Six fire appliances and a turntable ladder have been called to the scene. One man was taken to hospital for treatment to smoke inhalation.
