Essex Police have issued a new picture of a man they want to trace in connection with a murder in Colchester at the weekend.

Jack Hummerstone, 18, from Clerkenwell in London is wanted following the stabbing of Thomas Brittain, 26, in Colchester in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detective Chief Inspector Anne Cameron of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, who is leading the investigation, said: “If anyone knows of Jack Hummerstone’s current whereabouts they should not approach him but call 999 urgently."

A second man Andre Vella, 19, from Village Close, Kirby Cross has been charged with murder and has been remanded in custody by magistrates.

Murder charge after Colchester stabbing

A man has been charged with the murder of a 26-year-old musician from Colchester.

Thomas Brittain was stabbed several times in Parkside Quarter off St Peter's Street early on Saturday morning.

19-year-old Andre Vella from Kirby Cross near Frinton has been charged with murder.

Essex Police are still searching for 18-year-old Jack Hummerstone from London in connection with the attack.
