Detectives in Luton have released two photo-fit imagesof a man who they need to trace in connection with a shooting in the town.
The images are of a man believed to be responsible for the shooting of a 27 year old man in Leicester Road which happened on May 20 at 7.58am.
The victim remains in hospital undergoing extensive surgery to his leg and is described as being in a serious but stable condition.
The offender has been described as a man with a tanned complexion approximately 6’ tall with a dark greying beard and carrying a yellow JD sports bag.
Detective Inspector Iain Morgan, of the Serious Crime Unit, based at Luton Police Station, said: “These are not photographs of the offender but E-Fit pictures which have been created based on information from eye witnesses. "
A £1000 reward is available to anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest and conviction of people for gun crimes in the county.
Police in Luton are investigating the tenth shooting in the town this year.

The Luton MP is calling for tough sentences for those convicted of gun crime in the town. After the tenth shooting this year, Labour MP for Luton North Kelvin Hopkins described the situation as "very serious and very worrying."
Mr Hopkins says it's a minority of people involved in violence crime and the town is friendly and welcoming. He's called for anyone with information to secure convictions to come forward to help police.

Luton's council leader Hazel Simmons has condemned the latest shooting in Luton - the tenth this year. Police say a shooting after a car crash in Monday's rush hour appears unconnected with previous shootings in the town.
Hazel Simmons said: “The carrying and use of weapons in Luton will not be tolerated. Weappeal to anyone involved or considering violence to consider how these crimesruin lives and reflect badly on the town that we know and love."
She added: "Luton Borough Council will do everything it can to help the police stamp out this activity and bring those responsible to justice.”

Superintendent Dave Boyle of Bedfordshire Police said: “This would appear to be a targeted incident involving people who know each other. We take firearms related crime extremely seriously and will not tolerate guns in our towns."
He added: "The fact that a gun has been discharged in such an open and public arena causes us great concern and we have responded quickly with our own armed officers. If anyone has information about this incident please contact the police in confidence as a matter of urgency."

The police in the town are currently in the middle of a crackdown on gun crime following a series of shootings this year. Police say there appears to be no connection with this incident and previous shootings.
The gunman is described as a "skinny, 6-foot-tall white man".
Officers and forensic experts are the scene of Dunstable Road and Leicester Road which is closed while a thorough examination of the scene is carried out.
