A 93-year-old man has been banned from driving for six months after he was found guilty of careless driving.
Pensioner James Sims, of Daffodil Way, Chelmsford, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court following a collision in the city in March.
Mr Sims failed to brake at a junction and pressed the accelerator in error. His convertible car crossed a busy road, narrowly missing a cyclist, and then crashed through a park fence and hit concrete bollards.
