Duchess to name cruise liner

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is patron of East Anglia's Children's Hospices', will travel to Southampton for the naming ceremony of Princess Cruises' 3,600-passenger vessel Royal Princess and has invited a Cambridge family to join her.

The Duchess of Cambridge has carried out her last solo engagement today before her baby is born - launching a new liner.

Kate made the journey from London to Southampton by helicopter for the naming ceremony of Princess Cruises' 3,600-passenger vessel Royal Princess.

She was seated opposite guests associated with charities that have the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge or Prince Harry as their patrons, including East Anglia's Children's Hospices'.

The Duchess of Cambridge will officially name a new cruise liner today.

Kate, who is patron of East Anglia's Children's Hospices', will travel to Southampton for the naming ceremony of Princess Cruises' 3,600-passenger vessel Royal Princess.

The Duchess has invited the Rowbotham family, from Milton near Cambridge, who received care and support from EACH, to join in with the celebrations.
