More details have been revealed about how a proposed new A14 toll road could work.
The government announced plans to bring forward improvements to the route, between Cambridge and Huntington by two years, during its spending review last week.
Matthew Hudson has been finding out more.
Automatic toll charging could be implemented on the A14.
The technology used in the London Congestion Zone is being considered for the new Huntingdon bypass.
Cambridgeshire County Council is working with the Department for Transport on how the scheme could work.
In a statement the Department of Transport said:
"We have made no decisions yet on how the toll will work, or on its level. Cambridgeshire County Council are participating in this work. We recognise there is a great deal of local knowledge in the local authorities, which we will wish to make proper use of when progressing the scheme design."
