The Anglia region's MPs have missed out on becoming the House of Commons' new Deputy Speaker.
Tory MP Eleanor Laing, who represents constituents in Epping Forest, was elected to replace Nigel Evans who resigned to face sex offence charges.
North West Norfolk's Henry Bellingham, Northampton South MP Brian Binley, Chelmsford's Simon Burns, Nadine Dorries, Mid Bedfordshire MP, and David Amess, who represents constituents in Southend West, were all nominated.
MPs will elect a new deputy speaker today and five of this region's politicians are in the running.
North West Norfolk's Henry Bellingham, Northampton South MP Brian Binley, and Chelmsford's Simon Burns have all been nominated.
Nadine Dorries, Mid Bedfordshire MP, and David Amess, who represents constituents in Southend West, are also vying for the role.
The ballot is being held in the Aye Lobby in the House of Commons and closes at 2pm.
Speaker John Bercow is expected to announce the winner shortly after.
