Two teenage girls have died after a crash on the A10 at Puckeridge near Bishop's Stortford.

The accident happened at 7.45am when the car the girls were in collided with a deer and then another car.

Police renew appeal for witnesses to fatal crash

Police are re-appealing for information about about crash which killed two teenage girls last week.

Eighteen-year-old Daniela Ruggiero and 17-year-old Charlotte Dove were driving along the A10 in Hertfordshire when their Citroen C1 hit a deer.

A Volvo V40 then collided with their car, which caught fire.

It happened at about 7.45am last Tuesday between Ware and the A120 Puckeridge exit.

Investigating Officer PC Kevin Sloan, of Hertfordshire Police, said: “I would like to thank all those people who have already spoken to us about the collision however it may be that there are other people we haven’t yet talked to and I would urge those people to call police.”

Family pay tribute to their "true star" following fatal A10 crash

The family of a teenager who died when the car she was travelling in hit a deer have paid tribute to "a true star in their lives".

Eighteen-year-old Daniela Ruggiero, from Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire, was killed in the crash on the A10 yesterday.

Today her family said: “Daniela was a very special and much loved daughter, sister, grand-daughter, niece, cousin and friend.

“She will be greatly missed by everyone who was touched by her greatness. She was born to dance, and is now dancing with the angels. A true star in our lives.”

A 17-year-old, who was in the same car as Daniela, also died as a result of the crash which took place on the northbound carriageway between Ware and the A120 Puckeridge exit.

The girls' Citroen C1 hit a deer and another car then collided with them.

Daniela's family is keen to trace a woman, called Diane, who was driving a Mercedes and helped the teenager's mother and auntie yesterday.

The girls aged 17 and 18-years old were the driver and passenger of a Citreon which collided with a deer, another car then collided with them.

Anyone who witnesses the accident is asked to contact Hertfordshire police on the 101 number.

The collision happened on the northbound carriageway between Ware and the A120 Puckeridge exit near Bishop's Stortford at around 7.45am.

A Citreon C1 with the two teenage girls inside collided with a deer. A Volvo V40 then collided with the Citreon, which then caught fire.

The driver and passenger of the Citreon, who were 17-years and 18-years-old died at the scene. The driver of the Volvo was treated in hospital.

Anyone who witnessed the accident should contact Hertfordshire police through the 101 number.
