Being named Young Magician of the Year is no mean feat but that's exactly what's happened to a teenager from Essex, on his first attempt.

Joe Oyelade from Tiptree beat competitors from around the country. He's been showing off his skills.

It's a kind of magic for Essex youngster

Joe Oyelade has been crowned the Young Magician of the Year.

A 13-year-old boy from Tiptree in Essex has been crowned the Young Magician of the Year by the Magic Circle.

Joe Oyelade, who's a pupil at Thurstable school in Tiptree, won the title at his first attempt.

His passion for magic originated from his trips to magic shows in Las Vegas when he was six. Joe wants to be a professional magician.
