The number of people out of work in the East has fallen dramatically according to the latest official figures.
The Office for National Statistics found unemployment dropped by 23 thousand between July and September, to around 180,000. In the East Midlands, including Northamptonshire, unemployment dropped by about 15,000, to approximately 166,000.
Esther McVey MP, Employment Minister, is pleased with the figures.

181,000 people were unemployed in the region for the period between July to September.
Nationally, the number of people in work has reached a record-breaking 30 million, the highest figure since records began in 1971.
