Latest travel disruption

There is expected to be widespread disruption to travel today across the region due to strong winds and severe flooding.

RAIL: GREATER ANGLIA, NORFOLK

There are delays on Greater Anglia trains due to the poor weather conditions. Services will not run before 10am and replacement bus services will not be available.

Services suspended on Greater Anglia trains between:

  • Norwich and Lowestoft
  • Norwich and Great Yarmouth
  • Ipswich and Lowestoft
  • Ipswich and Felixstowe

Storm causes major travel problems on the trains

There are currently delays of up to an hour on East Midland Trains between Norwich and Peterborough.

There's also disruption on Greater Anglia between Norwich and Colchester and the service has been suspended between Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea, and between Colchester and Walton-on-the-Naze.

Work will go on overnight to repair the damage and if you are planning to travel tomorrow you are advised to check before setting out.

Greater Anglia - Norfolk: Service suspended on Greater Anglia between Norwich and Colchester due to obstruction on the line between Norwich and Diss, and between Manningtree and Colchester.

Suffolk: Disruption to container freight operations at Felixstowe due to adverse weather conditions.

East Midlands Trains - Norfolk: Delays of up to on hour on East Midlands Trains between Norwich and Peterborough due to poor weather.

London Midland - Hertfordshire: Service suspended on London Midland between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey due to poor rail conditions.
