Police have been in Wisbech today in the hope of encouraging someone to come forward with the vital information they need to find the killer of Una Crown.

Officers have been putting up posters and urging members of the East Cambridgeshire community to think back one year to the day of the murder.

Una Crown was stabbed to death before her body was burned at her home at Magazine Lane.

No-one has been charged with her murder.

Police have urged people to think about the actions of their loved ones as they continue to hunt the killer of a Wisbech pensioner.

Una Crown was stabbed to death and set on fire at her home at Magazine Lane exactly a year ago today.

A £10,000 reward is on offer for information which leads to the conviction of the 86-year-old's killer but no one has yet been charged.Today, Cambridgeshire Police issued a fresh appeal.

Det Ch Insp Jon Hutchinson said the investigation was still "very active" and the force was determined to find the person responsible.

He added: "I would urge people to think back to this time a year ago, did a friend or loved one come home with blood on them or smelling of smoke?

"Were they acting strangely around that time? Did they suddenly come into money?

"Any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, could prove crucial to solving this terrible crime and giving some closure to Mrs Crown's family who are desperate for answers."

A year on since the murder of Una Crown in Wisbech and detectives say they are determined to get justice for her family.

The body of the 86-year old was discovered stabbed to death in her bungalow in Magazine Lane on Sunday 13th January 2013.

Detectives investigating the murder have made a fresh appeal 12 months on from the murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Hutchinson said: "This is still a very active investigation and we have a dedicated team working on solving this horrific murder.

"We are determined to get justice for Mrs Crown and her family and are following up a number of lines of enquiry in order to catch and convict the person responsible.

"However, we still believe the answer to this crime lies in the local community and we need their help."
