There's been a lot criticism of the region's schools lately, with the Education watchdog saying there are fewer good schools here than almost anywhere else in the country.
In its recent annual report, Ofsted said just 76 per cent of schools in the East were being led well. That's compared with a national average of 82 percent. In London, the strongest region in England and Wales, 87 per cent of schools have good or outstanding leadership.
So what is being done to improve our schools? Elodie Harper reports on the teachers taking lessons on how to drive up standards.
