An auction at Sotheby's has made a Cambridgeshire woman a multi-millionaire. Dawn Sadler from Dry Drayton inherited 15 paintings by LS Lowry from her brother AJ Thomson who built a successful waste paper business. This evening (Tuesday) they sold for a total of just over £15 million.
One of the finest collections of paintings by LS Lowry is going under the hammer and is expected to make more than 15 million pounds.
It's an eye-watering sum, but what's even more amazing is that the paintings were owned by a man who started his career at the age of 14 collecting waste paper door-to-door near Newmarket.
