There's been a recommendation that plans to build Norfolk's controversial waste incinerator should be scrapped.
The proposed incinerator was due to be built at King's Lynn. It's proved a hugely divisive issue, with considerable local opposition.
Today a report from county council officers recommended there should be a change of plan because Secretary of State Eric Pickles's delay in approving or rejecting it would add significantly to an already very costly project - almost £30 million pounds in compensation and extra payments.
County Council leader George Nobbs made the announcement this afternoon.
