Rail users are being promised that work to improve the Milton Keynes to London line will be worth it in the end, despite a timetable of disruption at weekends for the rest of the year.
MP for South West Bedfordshire, Andrew Selous was at the launch of the project which will see £81 million pounds invested as part of improvement works.
The work will make the railway more reliable. Recently signal problems, cable theft and trespass have led to delays and misery for commuters.
Patrick Verwer the Managing Director of London Midland said. "Obviously it's a very congested piece of railway and this work, all the work they are doing this weekend and the weekends to follow in the course of the year will all help to make it more reliable."
