MK Dons have signed Crawley Town defender Kyle McFadzean for an undisclosed fee.

The move comes just hours after McFadzean himself had dismissed talk of the Dons' interest as "utter rubbish".

Speculation was rife on social media yesterday that the 27-year-old was in talks with Karl Robinson's side.

However, in an interview with The Crawley Observer, McFadzean seemed adamant that a switch to Stadium:MK wasn't imminent.

"I’ve only just this second got back from holiday, I’m on my way back from the airport so I don’t know what they (people on social media) are on about," he said.

“I’ve not even spoken to my agent to be honest. It’s utter rubbish.”

McFadzean has now agreed a two-year deal with the Dons and becomes their third signing of the summer.

MK Dons have signed highly-rated defender Kyle McFadzean from League One rivals Crawley Town.

The 27-year-old has signed a two-year deal at Stadium:MK after joining for an undisclosed fee.

Towering centre-half McFadzean has attracted interest from several clubs in recent years, but the Dons have finally won the race for his signature.

He's the club's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Danny Green and Mark Randall.

“I can’t wait to get started. I’ve known (of MK Dons’ interest) for a couple of weeks and I’m delighted to finally get it sorted," he told the club's official website.

"The style of football the team plays will suit me. The manager has already told me what he wants from me here and it’s what I want to.

“I wanted a new challenge, and if you look around the place it’s a big challenge but one I’m looking forward to. I’m sure coming here will improve me as a player too.

“I just can’t wait to put the shirt on and kick a ball about in this wonderful ground.”
