Detectives in Norfolk are looking into the possibility of whether a man who avoided capture for 18 years after he brutally raped a pregnant woman might be responsible for other serious crimes.
Peter Carroll, who is 56, was jailed on Friday for 20 years for almost choking a pregnant woman to death and raping her in Trowse just outside Norwich.
Carroll was eventually caught due to advances in DNA. Police are looking at possible connections with other cold cases.
A man's due to be sentenced today for raping a pregnant woman in Norwich nearly twenty years ago.
55-year-old Peter Carroll attacked the victim in Trowse back in July 1996.
A jury found him guilty of rape in June this year.
Police linked Carroll to the attack after finding a small scrap of his skin under the victim's fingernail.
