Norfolk's support for schools and their pupils has been judged as effective - one year after inspectors panned the local authority for failing to challenge a "legacy of underachievement".

A year after Ofsted slammed a "legacy of underachievement" in Norfolk's schools, inspectors say the county council is finally helping them improve.

The authority was one of the first to be inspected under a new regime by the schools watchdog in 2013.

Having previously been rated "ineffective", its support has now been judged effective.

But the authority still needs to do more to boost school results, as Luke Farrington reports.
