Police have urged the public to work with them to stop the violence in Ipswich after a second stabbing in just nine days.
A man in his 20s was left with more than 10 knife wounds following an attack at 1am on Monday, June 11, in Pauline Street.
Four men, who were black and had their faces covered, got into the house and assaulted the man before fleeting down a back alley.
Supt Kerry Cutler said she believed it was a targeted attack and had no reason to link it with the killing of Tavis Spencer-Aitkens on June 2.
But she acknowledged a wider problem with violence both in Ipswich and nationally.
