A 31-year-old man who was assaulted outside a pub in the centre of Cambridge has died, police have confirmed.

Christopher Frost, of Lode in Cambridgeshire, was injured following reports of violence outside The Brook at Brookfields on Friday (August 17) night.

He was taken to hospital but died Saturday evening.

Dennis Hurworth, 31, of Nuns Way, Cambridge, has been charged with manslaughter and is due to appear before Peterborough magistrates on Monday, August 20.

Mr Frost's family said they were devastated.

A man in his 30s is fighting for his life after being assaulted outside a pub Cambridge.

Police say they were called to reports of violence outside The Brook on Brookfields around 11.35pm on Friday, August 17.

The victim was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in a critical condition.

A second man, who in his also in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

Police said they believed it was an isolated incident and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
