Family say hospital 'pressured' pensioner to go home

The family of an 87-year-old man treated at Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge says he was pressured to leave the ward despite being too unwell to go. Ken Nolan's wife and daughter say he was persuaded to move into a care home against his wishes.

But the hospital says he'd been well cared for, and was well enough to go home. Neil Bradford reports

Wood chips to power hospital

Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge is planning a new wood chip power plant which it's hoped will reduce its carbon footprint by 30,000 tonnes a year.

The new unit will provide heat, hot water and electicity to the main hospital and the Rosie maternity unit. Managers at Addenbrooke's say the new energy centre will reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and exceed sustainability targets.
