Crowds are gathering for the Clacton Air Show which starts today.
However the RAF Sea King helicopter will not be taking part today or tomorrow for operational reasons.
Organisers of the Lowestoft Airshow say they expect this year's event to have been the last, as they don't have enough money to continue. The airshow team says the event brings in 11 million pounds to the local economy and it's asking businesses to help secure its future.
Residents in the town greeted the news with dismay and disbelief, while the local MP said that the community would fight to bring the show back on the road.
The leader of Waveney District Council, Cllr Colin Law, said he was shocked at the news that Lowestoft Air Show was to end.
Organisers of the Lowestoft Air Show have said the weekendevent had failed to raise the sums necessary to make it a viable proposition togo ahead with an airshow next year.
