Country's first Aviation Academy opens in Norwich

The country's first Aviation Academy will be launched in Norwich today.

When it is open, the multi million pound site near the airport will offer everything from specialist engineering degrees to cabin crew training.

It is being funded by the government, airlines and the council and will offer 80 engineering apprenticeships a year.


Stansted not currently affected by air traffic disruption

Stansted airport in Essex says it is "completely unaffected at the moment" by the air traffic disruption in the South of England.

Thousands of air travellers face delays after air traffic control company Nats experienced "technical problems" at its Hampshire control centre in Swanwick.

The problem led to Nats restricting the number of aircraft flying across the south of England and those taking off from airports.

A Nats spokesman said: "There will be delays, although we are not sure how long they will be."

London Southend wins passenger vote

London Southend Airport come out top in easyJet’s latest Customer Satisfaction Survey.

The survey, which was conducted across all of easyJet’s airports, asked travellers to rate their travelling experience.

The airline has flown more than half a million passengers from the airport since April 2012.
