Memorial service for Norwich man killed in Algeria

A memorial service for a former Norwich schoolboy killed in a terrorist attack in Algeria is to take place today.

26-year-old Sebastian John died in the attack at the In Amenas gas plant last month. He was an engineer who began work for BP last year and arrived in Algeria a week before the crisis.

The memorial service is due to take place at Norwich Cathedral this afternoon.

A memorial service for a former Norwich schoolboy killed in a terrorist atack in Algeria is to take place tomorrow.

26-year-old Sebastian John died in last month's attack on the In Amenas plant. He was an engineer who began work for BP last year and arrived in Algeria a week before the siege.

A memorial service is due to take place at Norwich Cathedral tomorrow afternoon.

The wife of a man killed in the Algeria hostage crisis was paid tribute to her husband. Nicola John, said Sebastian said he would be forever in their hearts and eternally missed.

Mr John was a former pupil at Norwich School.

Mrs John said: _

"_Sebastian was the most amazing person. He was a fantastic husband, father, son and brother. There won't be a moment that goes by where we won't think of him. We are so proud of Sebastian for all he achieved in his life. He was taken away from us too early and in the most tragic circumstances."

A fourth British victim of the Algerian siege was named today as efforts continued to repatriate their bodies.

The Foreign Office issued a statement from the family of Sebastian John which said he would be eternally missed.

There was no immediate information on where Mr John lived but it's been confirmed that he was a former pupil at Norwich School.

Six UK nationals are thought to have died in the terror attack at the In Amenas plant. The other three named so far are 46-year-old security expert Paul Morgan, systems supervisor Garry Barlow, 49, from Liverpool, and 59-year-old planning manager Kenneth Whiteside, from Glenrothes, Fife.
