New air museum nears completion

The new American Air Museum at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford will officially open in March 2016.

It's taken five years to transform the iconic building which contains US aircraft from the 1930s to the present day.

The Imperial War Museum says the building will contain the best collection of American military aircraft on public display outside North America.

It will also act as a memorial to the 30,000 US airmen and women who were killed while serving from Great Britain during the Second World War.

Transport police to talk to crossing cyclist

A woman on a bicycle who was almost killed on a level crossing in Cambridgeshire is due to talk to officers from British Transport Police.

Footage of the incident shows that the cyclist narrowly escaped death as she attempted to make her way over the crossing at Waterbeach.


Zoo hosts photo-shoot

Linton Zoo in Cambridgeshire has been welcoming photographers for behind the scenes photo-shoots.

40 photos which were taken during the events have been entered into a photography competition.

The zoo says the standard of entries was outstanding. The winning shot of Zuri the lion was taken by Ellis Hall of Cambridge.
