Capital One Cup: First Round results

First round

League One Stevenage dumped Championship side Ipswich Town out of the Capital One Cup last night.

Manager Graham Westley praised goalkeeper Steve Arnold for helping keep Mick McCarthy's men at bay to help the Broadhall Way side secure a 2-0 win.

Arnold stepped in after Chris Day was injured in the warm-up.

Westley said: "You've got to be able to believe in your squad and Steve Arnold is a very able and very capable goalkeeper and an excellent deputy - he did very well."

Peterborough were 5-1 winners at Colchester, MK Dons beat Northampton 2-1. Southend lost 1-0 to Championship side Yeovil.
