Police have made two further arrests as part of their investigation into the death of a man whose body was discovered in Chantry Park, Ipswich.The body of Christopher Thompson, aged 35 from London Road in Ipswich, was found by a member of the public at around 6:50am on Thursday 15th November.
This afternoon a 33-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman both of no fixed abode were arrested in the town on suspicion of murder. They have since been taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.A 42-year-old man from Ipswich, arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder, remains in custody.
Suffolk Police have named a man whose body was found in Chantry Park, Ipswich on Thursday 15th November.
He's Christopher Thompson, 35, from Norwich Road in Ipswich.
Police received a call from a member of the public at around 6:50am yesterday, reporting the discovery. Officers attended the park, which was then closed and areas within were cordoned off.
The park remains closed this morning as police continue to examine the scene.
A post mortem examination into Mr Thompson’s death was held last night, with the cause of death given as strangulation and assault injuries.
A 42-year-old man from Ipswich, arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody after a 12-hour extension was authorised.
