A ten year old boy has been flown to hospital with life changing injuries after a collision in Braintree this afternoon.
It happened at four o'clock in Coldnailhurst Road when a car and children's scooter collided.
Officers are still at the scene currently at the scene and a road closure has been put in place between Queens Road and Boleyns Avenue.

Police are dealing with a serious collision between three cars in Bungay.
Police were called to the incident in Beccles Road at around 1.15pm today. The incident involved a white Vauxhall Corsa, a silver Ford Fusion and a blue Volvo V40.
Police and paramedics are on scene. The road is currently closed and diversions are in place at the junctions with Kents Lane and Wingfield Street.
Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.

A teenage boy has died following a collision between a Fiat Punto and two lorries on the A14.
The accident took place yesterday afternoon on the eastbound carriageway close to the Trimley St Mary slip road.
The driver of the Punto, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
