U.S airman found dead near Suffolk base

A US airman has been found dead close to RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk Credit: ITV News Anglia

A U.S. Air Force Airman from the 48th Fighter Wing has been found dead in Suffolk.

His body was discovered in off the base housing close to RAF Lakenheath.

The cause of death is currently under investigation.

Further information will be released after family notifications have been completed.

Man's death referred to police watchdog

The death of a man in Essex has been referred to the IPCC

Police in Essex have referred the death of a man following police contact to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

A 44 year old man was arrested on suspicion of grooming on 28 May 2016 and subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries.

On Tuesday police were called by paramedics to an address in Harlow.

Officers entered the property and found a 44 year old man who was declared dead.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and the coroner has been informed.

Police investigating the death of a seven-year-old girl in Burgh St Peter say a post mortem has established the provisional cause of death as drowning and further tests are being carried out to obtain a definitive cause of death.

Officers are working with South Norfolk District Council to try and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident at a swimming pool at Waveney River Centre, near Beccles, on May 1st.

Bedfordshire Police have confirmed the police watchdog the IPCC have been informed after a man died in Bedford.

It happened at lunchtime today (Wednesday) on the town's Midland Road.

Officers gave first aid at the scene and the ambulance service also attended, but were unable to save the man.

In a brief statement Bedfordshire Police said

The IPCC will be informed of the incident, as is procedure when a person dies who has been in recent contact with the police.

No further details will be released at this time.

A transgender inmate has been found dead at Woodhill Prison in Milton Keynes.

Staff and paramedics attempted resuscitation on Joanne Latham but she was pronounced dead early on Friday morning

An investigation will now be carried out by the independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.


Police continue to investigate unexplained death

Police are expected to name a man in his 70s who died after being found in a road in Haverhill in Suffolk. Police were called to Duddery Road at around 3.30am on Sunday morning where the man was found lying in the road.

The man was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital but was later pronounced dead. His death is being treated as unexplained. Police are trying to contact his relatives.

Anniversary appeal over teenager's death

A year on from the discovery of a teenager's body on the Royal Estate at Sandringham, detectives are making a fresh appeal for information about her death.

Seventeen-year-old Alisa Dmitrijeva went missing from her home in Wisbech in August 2011. Her remains were found by a dog walker on farmland at Anmer, near Sandringham, on New Year's Day 2012.

Norfolk Police are especially keen to hear from anyone with information on her movements in the King's Lynn and Wisbech areas between 30 August and 6 September 2011.

Police investigate unexplained death

Essex Police are investigating the unexplained death of a women in Wivenhoe.

The body of a woman in her thirties was found at an address in Charles Court on Sunday 6th August.

The preliminary results from the post mortem were inconclusive and further tests are to be carried out. A 30-year-old man from Colchester was arrested, but has now been released on bail until October.
