Suffolk pottery firm inundated with 'Royal teapot' orders

Now after a busy few weeks waiting and watching for the royal baby, many involved in the preparation for the new arrival are now enjoying a well earned rest.

For one small pottery firm in Suffolk however, the hard work has only just begun. Carter's Teapot Pottery in Debenham has produced a teapot to mark the birth of the young Prince George and has been inundated with orders from around the world.

Each heart-shaped piece of pottery is hand made and hand painted. It takes around a week to make it from start to finish, meaning the small team is rushed off its feet, keeping up with demand from as far afield as Hong Kong and Australia.

Ram raid at sports centre in Suffolk

Police are appealing for witnesses following a ram raid at a sports centre in Debenham, in the early hours of this morning, Friday 5 October. The incident happened at around 2.30am at the Debenham Sports Centre in Gracechurch Street, Debenham.

Police were called to the scene following an alarm activation to discover the premises had been entered. It would appear that a vehicle had been used to break through glass doors to enter the main building. An attempt was made to remove a safe but it was left at the scene.

A white Toyota Hilux vehicle was seen leaving the area at speed; a vehicle matching this description has been reported as stolen from the Redlingfiled between 5pm on Tuesday 2nd October and 7.15am on Wednesday 3rd October.
