Colchester Borough Council remain hung with the Liberal Democrats as the largest party following the local elections.

Labour have taken control of the councils in Harlow, Great Yarmouth and Norwich.
The Liberal Democrats have lost their overall majority in Cambridge as have the Conservatives in Southend.
Labour hold Stevenage and Ipswich.
The Conservatives hold Brentwood, Rochford, Peterborough, Castle Point and Welwyn Hatfield.
The Liberal Democrats have lost their overall majority on Cambridge City Council - a council they've held for 12 years. It's likely they will stay in charge on the casting vote of the mayor.
The Lib Dems now have 21 seats with Labour on 19 with 1 Conservative and 1 Independent.
Colchester - No overall control
New council: LD 26 (no change), Con 23 (-1), Lab 8 (+1), Ind 3 (no change)
