One of the country's best known garden designers is celebrating her 90th birthday in Essex.
In 1960, Beth Chatto transformed wasteland at her family's fruit farm in Elmstead Market into a world famous garden.
She later won 10 consecutive gold medals in the Chelsea Flower Show. She has also written books and lectured on gardening.
An Essex school has been awarded £8.5 million by the local council for refurbishment and expansion. Market Field School in Elmstead Market near Colchester caters for children with disabilties.
Staff there have been campaigning for improvements to the site for decade, even lobbying the Prime Minister for funding. The Headmaster Gary Smith says the children and the staff are delighted.
