Bedfordshire police say a number of arrests have been made after Italian football fans were attacked in Bedford last night, after their team knocked England out of Euro 2012 on penalties.
Bedford has one of the largest concentrations of Italians in the UK - and many were out to see their team reach the semi-finals. Police say several cars were attacked.
The England Football Squad leave Luton Airport later for Euro 2012. The team will use a chartered jet to take them to their base in Krakow in Poland. They take off at noon ahead of their first fixture against France on Monday, which is on ITV1.
The FA have confirmed that Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy has broken his finger and has been ruled out of Euro 2012. The injury happened in training yesterday. Ruddy was assessed by the England medical staff and will not be able to be part of the tournament.
Ruddy will travel with the squad to Norway on Friday and watch the game on Saturday evening, but return to Norwich, after arriving back in England.Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland, who was previously on the standby list, will join up next week.
