Region's farmers support flood victims

Members of agricultural purchasing group Anglia Farmers have donated more than £10,500 to help pay for deliveries of forage to farmers in the south west of England.

The donations will be used to fund loads of fodder beet, sugar beet and straw.

A number of the group's members and suppliers have also offered haulage and time to transport deliveries to the flood hit areas.

Dairy farmers to stage protest over milk price

Dairy farmers unhappy with the price they receive for their milk are planning a protest in Essex this evening.

A message has appeared on the Farmers for Action website announcing that a protest is being planned in the Chelmsford area.

Earlier this month members of the National Farmers Union travelled to London to lobby MPs.

They claim that the price they're paid for their milk doesn't cover their production costs. They fear that some dairy farmers could go out of business.

Nationally, a new draft agreement has been agreed. More detail on ITV News.
