Plans to buy smaller and cheaper fire engines for part time stations in Norfolk will be discussed by councillors today.
The council needs to make savings over the next three years to plug a funding gap of almost 189 million pounds.
Two new fire engines are in use at London Southend Airport.
The vehicles are designed to deliver a foam blanket on to a burning aircraft. They carry 8,000 litres of water and 1,000 litres of foam and the crew can operate the jets from within the safety of the cab.
