Appeal after indecent assault in Luton

A 25-year-old woman was indecently assaulted as she walked home during the early hours of New Year’s Day in Luton.

The incident happened at 2.30am at the junction of Frederick Street and Old Bedford Road.

The victim had confronted a man who she believed had been following her from the town centre.

She asked him if he was following her and he replied that he was. She tried to remove her mobile from her bag to phone for help, but before she could do so the man grabbed her inappropriately.

The victim hit the man in the face before he held her hands and hit her back.

He then turned and walked back towards the town centre.

The man is described as black, 6’3” tall with an average build and 25-30 years old with short black hair. He was clean shaven and wore a grey jumper and jeans.
