Four arrested after stabbing on busy street in Hertfordshire

Four people have been arrested after a stabbing in Stanstead Abbotts

Four people have been arrested after a 20 year old man was stabbed on Stanstead Abbotts High Street.

Police were called to the scene just after two thirty yesterday afternoon. Three teenagers and a 53 year old man are being held in connection with the incident.

The man who was stabbed is still in hospital.

East Herts Chief Inspector Gerry McDonald said

This is an isolated and extremely unusual incident in East Herts and I’d like to reassure the community that we will work hard to identify and bring the offenders to justice. Four people have been arrested in connection with this incident. They remain in police custody at this time and significant enquires are on-going.

Work has begun on a new £19.3 million emergency department at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

The new facility is due to open in 2014 and will offer specialist emergency and urgent care services. It will also house improved radiology services, including a new CT scanner.
