Firefighters are attending an incident in which a car has reversed into a house, injuring the woman driver. Essex Fire say the front of the house at Heybridge is severely damaged and teams have been called in to shore it up.
Chloe Bond was one of the four torchbearers carrying the Olympic Flame through Heybridge near Maldon on Friday.
Chloe, 21, has been a keen member of GirlGuiding UK for nine years and the Scout Association for four years both as participant and now a leader.
She has also taken part in charity projects in South America and Asia helping the local communities there.
Essex Police are appealing for information following a fail to stop collision which happened in Heybridge. The collision happened on the bends at Goldhanger Road. It involved a red Citroen C3 which was in collision with a small grey or silver hatchback vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle is described as an elderly man wearing glasses who may have had a woman sitting in the passenger seat.
Two men will be sentenced in Chelmsford today for taking a high performance sports car from a garage and killing an 8-year-old boy.
Ryan Fleming from Heybridge was hit by the Porsche nine-eleven which had been left at a nearby Kwik Fit depot.
Gary Reader from Tiptree has admitted causing death by dangerous driving. Timothy Smith from Maldon has pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking. Both men worked for Kwick Fit.
