Service to celebrate Suffolk church restoration

St Mary's Church, Ickworth

A special service has been held to celebrate the restoration of a church near Bury St Edmunds.

The repairs to St Mary's, on the Ickworth estate, have been funded by English Heritage and the Hertigate Lottery Fund.

It fell into disuse and was declared redundant in the 1970s. A charitable trust has been set up to preserve it.

Vineyard seeks new home

The only commercial vineyard on National Trust land is set to close, with the land it sits on being returned to its historic use as a kitchen garden.

Jillian and Charles Macready have run the vineyard at Ickworth House in Suffolk for seventeen years - and are now looking to rehome all two thousand vines so their work - and wine - doesn't go to waste. Laura Burns reports.
