A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries following a crash yesterday.
Officers were called at 8.30am to a report that a male motorcyclist had fallen from his bike on London Road, Kessingland. The road was closed until just before midday as a result.
The motorcyclist has suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and has been taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to ring on 101.
Waveney District Council is urging residents in threatened properties to vacate as soon as possible.
Reports suggest that the tide is far higher, far earlier than expected and residents should not presume to wait until immediately before the predicted surge peak at around 11pm.
The rest centres in Lowestoft, Kessingland, Southwold and Carlton Colville are now open and receiving people.
