Tory grandees have hit out at Conservative politician Louise Mensch saying she has let the side down by resigning as MP for Corby.
Mrs Mensch stood down on Monday saying she had not been able to balance political work and family life. Her resignation sets up a by-election in the constituency in the autumn. Emma Hutchinson reports.
A 60-year-old man has been convicted of sending a threatening email to the MP for Corby, Louise Mensch.
The man, from Gloucester who says he suffers from agoraphobia and depression, did not attend the hearing but was convicted in his absence of sending a malicious email from his home, threatening one of Ms Mensch's 3 children. The man has been ordered to attend sentencing in May.
